A year’s reflection on Wyefield Apiaries

Where have the last 12 months gone?

It’s hard to believe that we have been running Wyefield Apiaries for a year now.

Our very grateful thanks to our customers for their loyal support.

We have been fortunate that we’ve been able to meet a lot of customers face to face with trade shows able to take place. Having attended the National Honey Show National Honey Show, BeeTradex, Welsh Beekeepers Association Spring Convention Who we are – Pwy ydyn ni? - Welsh

Beekeepers Association (wbka.com) it has been great to meet customers and put a face to a name!

We look to continue our presence at trades shows in 2023 with the addition of the new Beekeeping Show British Beekeeping Show.

We were delighted that Marc Molein from Belgosuc Sugar specialities | Belgosuc was able to pay us a visit last Autumn and we look forward to him visiting again later in the year.

We continue to be very busy on the farm with lambing and calving once again. Luckily the weather has made lambing a lot easier this year and with the children home for Easter I know

they’ll be kept busy with Jonathan planning to do as much marking as possible before they go back to school!

Sam has also started a beginners course with Brecon & Radnor Beekeepers Association Brecknock and Radnor Beekeeping Association | Registered charity No 517265 (wordpress.com). So far so good! I am thoroughly enjoying the course and meeting fellow bee keepers. I’m continuing to work on Jonathan as for a location for future hives!!

The last year hasn’t been without its challenges with changes to importing rules, but thankfully we’ve formed great relationships with members of staff at the haulage companies, both in the UK and Belgium who have gone out of their way to provide guidance and assistance.

As we look forward to the next 12 months we look forward to meeting more of you and making a few changes around the yard to make life a little easier, one of them being an electric pallet truck!
