About Us

The Davies Family took over Wyefield Apiaries in April 2021 and since then it’s been all hands on deck.

UK-based bee feed deliveries, lambing and calving all united under the majesty of the Mid Wales countryside.

Prior to purchasing Wyefield Apiaries Sam had been working part-time for Peter & Marian Guthrie. During her time working for them she had mainly been involved in the administration work, although she had to do some packing and bottling in an emergency!

Sam and Jonathan have two children, Sioned and Iwan. Jonathan and Iwan farm a Hill Farm with sheep and beef cattle. Jonathan was a contract shearer and has now retired, however, Iwan now has the shearing bug!

Sam’s career background is in administration and event organisation which includes organising the 2010 World Shearing Championships, 2012 Royal Welsh Grassland Event and the 2016 All Wales Ploughing & Hedging Championships.

Sam is the Secretary of Builth & District Ploughing & Hedging Society, General Secretary of Beulah Show and Club Leader of Beulah YFC. Sam undertook a bee keeping course with the Brecon & Radnor Beekeeping Association and now has a couple of hives. Sam is thoroughly enjoying keeping bees and having her own honey is helping with her hayfever symptoms significantly.

Sioned has now finished education after studying at Llysfasi College and has come home to work part time for Wyefield Apiaries. Sioned enjoys meeting customers at Trade Shows and dealing with enquiries over the phone. Sam hasn’t managed to get her in a bee suit yet! Sioned is responsible for the social media posts.

Wyefield Apiaries will continue to have a presence at events such as the National Honey Show at Sandown Racecourse, the Welsh Beekeepers Annual Convention inBuilth Wells and The Beekeeping Show in Telford. It’s always a pleasure to meet up with our customers face to face.

If anyone has any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
